Nestled in the beautiful Cache Valley, the city of Logan has a population of approximately 45,000. Logan's community is the county seat as well as a university town - home of the Utah State University Aggies. Founded in 1850 by a group of Mormon settlers, the area was once a place where early trappers "cached" their animal pelts until springtime when they would take them to a rendezvous to sell, which explains the name, Cache Valley. The elevation is 4,775 feet, producing cold winters and cool summer nights.

The valley is a year-round recreation area, close to Bear Lake for boating and water skiing, and mountains for hiking, four-wheeling, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and cross-country or downhill skiing. Logan has a wonderful cultural atmosphere as well as a wide range of craft boutiques, sporting events, fairs and concerts throughout the year.

Weather Shield Mfg., Inc. is located in a small community south of Logan called Nibley. There are approximately 350 employees at this division, which also includes an order entry and customer relations department. The plant encompasses approximately 250,000 square feet of manufacturing space, including a mill operation where lumber is ripped, cut and moulded into parts for the wood window operations. A Weather Shield showroom is also located here.
