These days, $300 doesn't go very far. But in 1953,
it was enough for young Edward "Lee" Schield to
start producing custom aluminum windows and doors
in a garage in his hometown of Medford, Wisconsin.
In 1955, his brother David joined the business and
a partnership was formed. More than 50 years later,
The Schield Family Companies include some of the
nation's leading window and door manufacturers,
featuring four distinct brands.
Today, new generations of the Schield family
continue to join the business, each with a deep
and profound respect for the Companies' traditions.
"When my father first began making windows 50 years
ago, every one was custom-made. That's still how we
work at The Schield Family Companies. We don't mass
assemble products and pull them off a shelf to fill
an order. We craft every window and door to the exact
specifications of our customers."
