HELPING LADYSMITH

On September 2, 2002, a tornado carved a half-mile swath through downtown Ladysmith, Wisconsin. The storm damaged or destroyed nearly 60 buildings, and affected most of the downtown area.

Employees from our Ladysmith and Medford facilities quickly responded. They assisted the Red Cross in setting up a temporary daycare site so that those with damaged homes had a safe place to leave their children while cleaning up or repairing their property.

Contracted catering help and a truckload of bottled water and soda was sent from our Medford facility to help take care of the many volunteers. Employees set up two distribution sites and served over 3,000 meals a day during the cleanup.

Over 35 employees were involved in the relief efforts.
